The health ministry of Brazil said that the number of coronavirus infected patients in the country has totalled 96,559 as of Satruday while the number of deaths related to the disease came in at 6,750.
The country has reported 4,970 more coronavirus cases along with 421 more deaths due to the disease in the earlier 24 hours, which has made it the harshest coronavirus struck country in Latin America as it recorded the most number of cases and deaths.
The ministry said that Sao Paulo state, the epicenter of the outbreak in the country, saw a total of 31,174 infections along with 2,586 deaths, Rio de Janeiro followed with a total of 10,546 cases and 971 deaths.
According to the ministry, a total of 1,330 deaths remain under investigation while 40,937 patients have recovered from the disease in the country so far.
