Qatar International Cables Company donates cables to help build field hospital to fight COVID-19 pandemic


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QICC (Qatar International Cables Company), a joint venture between Al Mirqab Capital and Nexans, directs the donation of power cables to a Qatar government project with the objective of helping on fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The project is being conducted by Ashghal and aims to build a field hospital with 150 fully equipped beds and the construction of a shaded space with a capacity for 8,000 beds. QICC readily made itself available for donation through the community services committee of entrepreneurs and contractors, organised by Ashghal.
QICC has been committed since the beginning of the pandemic, acting preventively in the care of its employees, not only keeping in home office those who have scope of work conditions for this as also implementing security measures such as cleaning routine reinforcement at the plant and offices, change the organization at the plant to avoid contact between operators and distribute health kit with masks, gloves and sanitizer items in order to maintain the operation of its factory, which is considered of essential continuity  as it serves major state projects, of which notably construction of hospitals and health care centers.
'We are globally aware of our active role in the community which we are part of: this is part of our corporate social responsibility. That is why we took this step in response to the call for help from Ashghal. In addition, safety and health are corporate and non-negotiable values with regards to our teams and our partners, said Max-André Delannoy, General Manager of QICC.
