Meeting discusses Hungary's university scholarships to Jordanian students


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb.12 (Petra)-- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Muhyiddine Touq and Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan, Csaba Czibere, on Wednesday discussed the latest developments on the Hungarian university scholarships granted to Jordanian students for the academic year 2020/2021, which totaled 400 scholarships.
During the meeting, Touq announced 1783 male and female students "correctly" filled out applications to benefit from these scholarships through the previously announced Hungarian link, adding the deadline for downloading the official document on the English language (TOEFL) and IELTS test result will be in mid-February.
The ministry, Touq noted, will nominate about 560 male and female students with the highest scores in the English language test, and the Hungarian side will complete the procedures for selecting 400 nominees according to the Hungarian instructions.
The minister lauded efforts of the Hungarian Embassy's staff and government in providing a "comfortable and safe" educational environment for Jordanian students in Hungarian universities of various degrees, who stand at about 100,000 students.
For his part, the Hungarian envoy commended as "solid" the ties between Jordan and Hungary, expressing pride in Jordanian students in Hungarian universities in various disciplines and degrees.
