Kuwait has potentials to be tourism destination -- Int'l authority


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MADRID, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), said Kuwait is rich in great potentials to render it a tourism destination.
Speaking to KUNA on sidelines of the 40th edition of the International Vittor 2020 Tourism Fair in Spain, he said that Kuwait could employ its resources and economy to boost tourism, expressing his personal desire to help in this regard.
The UNWTO chief urged the Gulf country to invest more resources in the sector, indicating that he intended to capitalize on his friendships in Kuwait to put his expertise at Kuwait's disposal at this level.
The fair, which kicked off Wednesday, is due to proceed till tomorrow Sunday.
Eleven companies from 165 countries are partaking in the event. Among the participating countries are Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.
Kuwait had taken part in the previous editions. (end)
