Bilateral ties, cooperation discussed by Turkish parliament, Iranian, Omani officials


(MENAFN) On Saturday, the speaker of the Turkish parliament gathered with many foreign officials on the sidelines of the 12th Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) gathering launched in the country's southern region of Antalya.


Mustafa Sentop met Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani and talked about bilateral ties, collaboration and regional improvements; Larijani said Iran believed the sides together could attain sustainable security in the area and their collaboration would help the people of Turkey and Iran.


Sentop also gathered with Omani Deputy Parliament Speaker Abdullah Al Amri in a conference, after which he said the trade volume among both countries increased 55 percent in the past year, arriving at almost USD500 million.


Commercial activities among Turkey and Oman had lately gained momentum, and both sides were willing to develop trade even more, as said by Amri.
