Australian currency drops against USD

The Australian dollar resumed to fall against the greenback on Wednesday with mixed news on global trade, the Australian dollar stood at 68.15 U.S. cents.

The Australian dollar exchanged 68.15 U.S. cents on Wednesday, dropping from 68.31 U.S. cents on Tuesday.

Westpac Bank economists said that "Equity markets were about flat and U.S. yields somewhat higher amid mixed headlines on U.S.-China trade negotiations and ahead of the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) meeting".

Adding that "AUD/USD fell from 68.30 U.S. cents to 68.00 U.S. cents then steadying at 68.15 U.S. cents, with only a tiny flicker higher on the U.S.-China headlines."
