Qatar- Amir chairs fifth meeting of Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Amir H H sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, chaired the councils fifth meeting of 2019 today at the Amiri Diwan.

The Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Their Excellencies the members of the Council attended the council.

The Council discussed topics on the meeting's agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them. The Council also reviewed governmental initiatives that aim to incentivize the private sector through public-private partnerships to guarantee that projects are completed quickly, enhance the contribution of the private sector in the economy, attract local and foreign investments, encourage innovation, and create new job opportunities.

The council also reviewed the public-private partnerships in the fields of logistics, food security, construction, industry, manufacturing, education, and healthcare. They also discussed future projects related to establishing low-cost warehouses and central markets in different areas in the country.

The council then viewed a presentation on connecting government initiatives and Qatar Vision 2030 programmes, particularly strategic programmes in food security, manufacturing, Tawteen programme, and free-zones.
