Palestinians allocate USD 3 mln of Kuwait grant for Gaza

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Government said Sunday that it has allocated USD three million of a Kuwaiti grant for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mohammad Zyara said in a statement that this amount would go to a number of infrastructure projects in the sector. He added that the total value of the Kuwaiti grant worth USD 200 million was allocated for the reconstruction of several key sectors in the Gaza Strip.
The number of these projects reached 53 projects in all the governorates of the enclave for the reconstruction of roads, infrastructure and public buildings, he said.
The Israeli occupation launched a large scale war on the Gaza Strip in July 2014 lasted for about 50 days, killing around 1,935 Palestinians and wounding more than 10,000 others in addition to destroying large parts of the infrastructure and dozens of sites, houses and public utilities.
During the donors' conference in Cairo in October 2014, Kuwait announced a USD 200 million grant for the number of housing and industrial development sectors in the Gaza Strip. (end)
