Oman- CBO chief attends Arab central bankers' meeting in Egypt

H E Tahir bin Salim bin Abdullah al Amri, executive president of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), led the sultanate's delegation to the 43rd Ordinary Session of Governors of Central Banks and Arab Monetary Institutions. The event was held in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday.

At the session, the central bank governors discussed the regional and international monetary, economic and financial developments, the unified Arab Economic Report for 2019, recommendations of the Arab Banking Supervision Committee, and recommendations of the Regional Working Group intended at enhancing financial inclusion in the Arab countries.

The participants also deliberated on the Financial Stability Report of the Arab countries for 2019, and examined the recommendations of the Arab Committee for Payment and Settlement Systems as well as the recommendations of the Arab Committee for Credit Information.

The meeting also reviewed the recommendations of the Working Group on modern financial technologies, in addition to holding discussions on many other topics of interest to the banking sector of the region.
