Pakistan- Changing loyalties: ANP workers join PPP in Lower Dir


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) LOWER DIR: Just months ahead of local government election, Awami National Party has received another blow as a number of its active members in Gamagat, Tormang area of Lower Dir joined Pakistan People Party (PPP) on Saturday.

The PPP joining ceremony was held in PK-13 in which former councillor Malik Alamzeb Khan, Asfandyar Khan, Saeed Ur Rahman, Hasan Zeb, Maulana Nizami Uddin and other political figures of the Arabs participated. They bid goodbye to ANP and Joined PPP with the aim to work for the uplift and prosperity of the poor people of the Lower Dir.


Former Member Provincial Assembly and the senior Naib president of PPP in Malakand Zameen Khan while addressing the gathering said that the people are now fed up of the 'selected government'. He alleged that the people of the Pakistan Tehrik-e- Insaf (PTI) has failed to solve the issues faced by the people.

The former MPA said that for the first time people of Dir haven't been given representation in the provincial cabinet by the PTI government and worked on almost all the development project in the district have been stopped.

He alleged that Dir is being treated like step-child and all the uplift projects are being shifted to Swat, the home constituency of the Chief Minister. The PPP leader said that Tormang Dara has been kept deprived of all the basic facilities and expressed the hope that the PPP will work for its development in real sense.

The PPP leadership expressed the hope that the Only PPP will stand victorious in the next local government election in the province. 'PPP is the party of poor people of the country,' said Zameen Khan 'only PPP works in real sense for the rights and uplift of their area.'

He said that it is very unfortunate that people of Dir are constructing roads by collecting Donations as not government attention is paid to their issues. He said that PPP has established a network of schools, roads and health facilities in Maidan.
