Iraq decides to establish artificial island to export crude oil


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, July 9 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Cabinet on Tuesday took a decision to establish an artificial island to be a platform for exporting crude oil from Iraq's territorial waters.
The cabinet approved recommendations by the ministerial council of energy, and decided to set up the island to export crude oil, a governmental statement said.
The recommendations endorsed by the cabinet included also a project on the Iraqi-Jordanian crude oil exports, it added.
The statement gave no further details about the island project, its cost or the period of implementation. (end)
