(MENAFN) Qatar was announced that it was all set to commence the operations of Barzan gas project by this year's end.
Head and CEO of Qatar Petroleum (QP) H E Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi made the declaration while revealing the signing of a massive petrochemicals complex development initiative.
Back in January 2011, QP penned a joint venture agreement with ExxonMobil for the USD10 billion plan.
The project is expected to increase the output of gas in Qatar by as much as 2 billion cubic feet per day.
