Turkey spends USD103m to back SMEs


(MENAFN) Minister of industry and technology Mustafa Varank revealed on Sunday Turkey to have allocated USD103 million of investments in subsidies to its small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from January to March 2019.

According to the Turkish minister, the country backed more than 35,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs during the first three months of this year.

The minister affirmed "the way to permanently sustain global competitiveness in this day and age is to invest in high tech."

Varank added "our ultimate goal is to turn our SMEs into competitive, global players. We will exert our full strength to reform our economy and sustain our growth by investing in every step of industrial development."
