NATO, Gulf diplomats hold talks in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 9 (KUNA) -- The ambassadors of NATO member states and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) envoys assembled for a meeting on Tuesday amid a visit to the military alliance's regional headquarters in Kuwait.
The visit is a chance to familiarize all parties involved with the achievements NATO's Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) Regional Center has made since its inception two years ago, Kuwait National Security Apparatus said in a statement.
The talks, which revolved around issues of mutual concern, also coincide with the 70th anniversary of the formation of NATO, the statement pointed out.
Diplomats from the Gulf regional group and NATO also reviewed plans for more cooperation, besides discussing recent happenings around the world. (end) am.kah.nam
