Major Chinese oil and gas platform to be transferred to South China Sea


(MENAFN) "Dongfang 13-2 CEPB," the second largest offshore oil production and processing platform in China, was prepared for shipment at the Gaolan Port in the city of Zhuhai in south China's Guangdong Province earlier this month and will be shipped to the Yinggehai Basin of the South China Sea Wednesday.

The "Dongfang 13-2 CEPB" platform established by Zhuhai COOEC (China's Offshore Oil Engineering Company)-Fluor Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. is an inclusive oil and gas processing platform.

The floating weight of the platform is 17,247 tons, equal to the weight of 10,000 ordinary cars, and covers an area of a football field.

As the central platform of China's Dongfang 13-2 gas field group, the platform is planned to be put into operation in June.
