Israel beefs up military presence along Gaza border


(MENAFN) Israel was announced to have deployed more soldiers along the Gaza border following a strike coming from Gaza landed on a residential home to cause at least seven deaths.

During a news conference, Brig.-Gen. Ronen Manelis confirmed the Israeli army to have called up reserves and stationed two brigades to southern Israel.

According to the top official, "following an assessment of the situation by the chief of staff, we are currently rapidly transferring two brigades, infantry and armored corps, from training and from their division headquarters to the Southern Command area."

Manelis added "there is a focused mobilization of reservists to specific zones, and we are in full readiness for a wide range of scenarios."
