Eleven Indian fishermen arrested in Sri Lankan waters


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Eleven Indian fishermen were arrested in Sri Lankan waters by the Navy last night.

The Navy said that the Indian fishermen were on two fishing trawlers at the time they were detected and arrested off the Analathivu Island.

The fishers and fishing trawlers were brought to the naval base SLNS Elara and were handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries in Jaffna for onward legal action. (Colombo Gazette)
