Uganda: road accident kills 6, wounds 8 in Luwero


(MENAFN) Six people have been emphasized killed and eight more wounded after two vehicles got involved in a Friday night accident in the Ugandan central district of Luwero, a police spokesperson stated on Saturday.

Paul Kangave, police spokesperson for Savannah Region, informed Xinhua in a phone call that the accident occurred when a lorry and a commuter taxi had a head-on crash.

Kangave affirmed, "Preliminary reports point to reckless driving as the possible cause of the accident. The taxi driver tried to overtake from a prohibited place (sharp bend)".

The wounded persons were quickly transferred to a nearby hospital.
