Turkey slams Czech president persistent claims

(MENAFN) Turkey condemned strongly the persistent accusations Czech President Milos Zeman is making against the country, slamming them as "defamatory and false."

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy emphasized "We observe with great regret that Czech President Milos Zeman continues his defamatory and false statements targeting our country."

In a statement issued on Saturday, the foreign ministry spokesman stressed "the persistence of these unfounded slanders reflects a purely malevolent approach."

Such a move would inflict losses on the Czech president's office as well as his citizens, the spokesman affirmed.

"Such unfounded claims against a country at the forefront of the fight against Daesh, which has taken its troops directly to the field and had martyrs during the fight, only exposes the weakness of the author of the slanders," Aksoy noted.

"Nobody has the power to defame our country, which has played the biggest part in fight against Daesh, with slanders lacking wisdom and intelligence," he added.
