(MENAFN) Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil is expecting the U.S. "Deal of the Century" for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement to end unsuccessfully.
Speaking to Lebanese TV, the foreign minister emphasized that the U.S. proposal "will be born dead."
A peace plan, Bassil stressed, ought to be "consistent with the rights that Israel should reinstate for Palestine."
He added in reference to the return of Syrian refugees back home that it could be accomplished through "application of Lebanese law" and "relations with Syria."
