Qatar- Deputy Prime Minister holds talks with US officials in Washington

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah met yesterday with US Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security Andrea L Thompson.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of common interest and means of enhancing and developing them. The meeting was attended by the State of Qatar's Ambassador to the United States, H E Sheikh Mishal bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari Military Defence Attache to the United States, Colonel Nawaf bin Mubarak Al Thani.

The Deputy Prime Minister also met with the Deputy to Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Geeta Pasi, in Washington. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the African continent.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah met with the US Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, Robert O'Brien in Washington, yesterday.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as bilateral cooperation, and means of enhancing and developing it.

H E the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs also met with Acting US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan, at the Pentagon on Tuesday.

The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing and developing them in various fields, especially military and defence fields.
