Oman aims to bring Palestinians, Israelis closer: H E Alawi


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, has said that Oman aims to bring Palestinians and Israelis closer to bring peace in the Middle East. He also lauded Kuwait's role in resolving the Gulf crisis.

In a statement on its Twitter account on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said that H E Alawi spoke to a German channel on a wide range of issues.

MoFA stated, 'In an interview with German channel DW, H E Alawi spoke about bringing Palestine and Israel closer for peace in the Middle East.'

Quoting H E Alawi, MoFA stated, 'The sultanate seeks to bring Palestinians and Israelis closer to bring peace in the Middle East. The sultanate supports Kuwait's role in resolving the Gulf crisis.'

MoFA said that Oman's ties with Iran will continue. 'The Middle East needs peace, stability and development. There is an initiative for peace between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.'

It added, 'The initiative is shared by those who have laid out some of the underlying principles of peace and stability in the Middle East. Sultanate's policy is independent and based on neutrality.'
