(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The ROP has arrested a man for blackmailing a group of women after stealing data and photographs from their Snapchat messaging app accounts.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, an ROP official said, 'The accused persuaded the girls to share their Snapchat account details to prevent hacking.
'The accused then stole data and pictures from their accounts and blackmailed them for money.'
The ROP has urged social media users to be cautious when accepting friendship requests from unknown people. 'Social media users should also exercise caution while sharing personal information and photographs on such platforms,' it said.
