(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least five individuals were injured as an Afghan National Army (ANA) helicopter crashed in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Monday.

Lt. Col. Khwaja Yahya Alwi, spokesman for the 205th Atal Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at the airfield during a training mission on Sunday night.

He said the chopper went down due to technical problems and five individuals on board were injured. The wounded are currently under medical treatment.

In a statement, NATO€™s Resolute Support (RS) mission said the chopper belonged to the Ministry of Defence. The aircraft made a hard landing.

The crash was not linked to an attack from Taliban, it said, adding those aboard did not include American or RS personnel.
