Jordan- ASEZA Chief Commissioner: ACT fosters national economy

Aqaba, Dec. 7 (Petra) -- Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nasser Shraideh has underlined the important role of Jordan's only container port in pushing forward national economy despite being in a chaotic region.

The chief commissioner's remarks came as he received CEO of the Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) Steven Yogalingham Thursday. At the meeting, Shraideh called to maintain the performance indicators and growing development at the port, which reflect world confidence in the terminal and its work mechanism.

For his part, Yogalingham said the ACT bagged the 2018 Lloyds List "Best Port Operator in the South Asia, Middle East and Africa" award because of its outstanding performance in the field of operations management at the port. He also voiced the ACT's pride for winning the prestigious award and commended ASEZA efforts in developing the ACT.
