12 IS terrorists detained in Iraq's Nineveh


(MENAFN) Twelve people were announced to have been arrested by Iraqi soldiers on suspension of being involved with IS terrorist group.

During an interview with Anadolu Agency on Monday, police chief Maj. Gen. Hamad al-Jabouri confirmed the arrest to have taken place in the northern Nineveh province.

The local police chief unveiled that "the militants have been arrested in crackdown campaigns in several areas in Nineveh."

In al-Ayadia town, located in western Nineveh, another incident occurred when an attack caused the death of an official.

The police chief further added that the "gunmen raided the house of the al-Ayadia local chief and killed him."
