Afghani forces seize 'FETO' school


(MENAFN) Afghan security forces have assumed control of a high school that has relations with Fetullah terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 coup attempt in Turkey.

According to an Afghan local official, the security forces took over the school in Herat placed in the western part of the nation regardless of clash by a number of students.

Talking to Anadolu Agency in the province, Jailani Farhad, the spokesman of Herat governor, stated that the operation was carried out in order to surrender the school to firstly Afghan authorities and later to Turkey's Maarif Foundation.

The school was surrendered to the Maarif Foundation within the framework of an education agreement between both nations, the foundation's Afghanistan Country Director Mucip Uludag emphasized.
