Amman, Oct 16 (Petra) –– Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Tuesday reiterated the government's support of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency that seeks to develop institutional work and promote a culture of distinction and creativity.

Razzaz made the remark as he received a report from Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Fayez Tarawneh, on the evaluation of the award, which was awarded in a ceremony held last month under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah.

He noted that the centre had adopted clear criteria in the evaluation of the performance of ministries and government entities competing for the award, stressing the importance of periodic monitoring to ensure that institutional development is an ongoing process, not just for the purpose of winning the prize.

Tarawneh reviewed the mechanisms adopted by the center to ensure an objective evaluation process in line with international standards of excellence, noting that the center is preparing evaluation reports that monitor the strong points and the opportunities to improve work at the ministries and public institutions.
