Kuwait- Monthly stipend between KD 150 and KD 200 per month mulled for students of rare disciplines

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The Ministry of Education said the government is seriously studying the possibility of allocating special allowance for students who register to study in rare specializations, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the allowances will range between KD 150 and KD 200 per month. In the meantime, sources quoting the Ministry of Education said as an alternative to fill shortage of teachers, the ministry is planning to increase the rate of Kuwaitization in the education sector.

However, according to informed sources no job degrees have been approved by the Ministry of Education to employ expatriate teachers for the new school year.

The sources explained expatriates teachers who were contracted by the Education Ministry from outside Kuwait shall be employed on degree basis already approved in the budget.
