(MENAFN) Tukey was announced as the gold holder of the 2018 World Para Swimming European Championships in Ireland.
Turkish swimmer Sumeyye Boyaci claimed a gold medal with 45.21 seconds in the Women's 50 meters Backstroke.
"We are proud of Sumeyye's victory," Turkey's Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu proclaimed in a congratulatory message.
Sumeyye has been placed 4th at last year's Para Sport Festival with a time of 46.57 seconds, failing to win a medal by a mere split second.
