(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ooredoo has been named ‘Qatar's Fastest Mobile Network' for having the country's fastest mobile Internet speeds for the first half of 2018, according to the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.
The Ookla Speedtest Global Index collects data from hundreds of millions of monthly tests taken around the world. In Qatar, more than 68,000 in-country tests were made during Q1-Q2 2018, confirming the fastest mobile network.

The top ranking comes on the back of Ooredoo's strong push to further enhance its country-leading Ooredoo Supernet. Ooredoo recently became the world's first communications company to launch a 5G network, providing about 100 times faster speeds than 4G networks. Ooredoo has already installed 75 network towers that support the 5G network.
