Algerian economic growth to pick up in 2018


(MENAFN) Algeria is expected to witness an economic growth in 2018 seeing how a recovery was reported in revenue from the OPEC members oil and natural gas exports.

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia declared confidently that "2017 has been a difficult year, but 2018 will be much better."

While making the statement, the prime minister further pointed on how unemployment level in 2017 seen a boost to 11.7 percent.

Official data have shown a 25 percent raise in oil and natural gas exports, reaching USD7.1 billion during the first two months of this year, compared to USD5.67 billion recorded in 2016 during the same period.
