Turkey kills 4 PKK militants in N. Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- Turkish Air Force has killed four PKK militants during air raids in northern Iraq, the military said Saturday.

The killed militants launched separate attacks on Turkish military posts on Friday, injuring three soldiers, the army's general staff said in a press statement.

Anti-terror operations remain ongoing, the statement added.

Turkish Air Force usually launches raids on PKK posts in northern Iraq, especially Mt. Qandil, which is the PKK's stronghold.

Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU, the PKK resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015, following a stop of three years a half years. (end) rs.mt
