Afghanistan- 92 insurgents killed in raids


(MENAFN- Afghanistan Times) AT-KABUL: At least 92 militants were killed and 41 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Ghazni, Khost, Paktika, Logar, Zabul, Farah, Herat, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 92 insurgents were killed and 41 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies' positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 27 terrorist were killed in Kharwar district of Logar, 25 insurgents killed and 20 others wounded in Nadershah kot district of Khost, 22 Taliban fighters were killed and 12 others wounded in Poshtroad and Balablok district of Farah and eight armed Taliban were killed and three others injured in Nadali district of Helmand province.

Similar, four Taliban fighters killed and six others injured in Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak province, two killed in Wazakhwah district of Paktika, two rebels killed in Qarabagh district of Ghazni and two insurgent killed in Shindand district of Herat province.

In past 24 hours, 12 planed clearing operations, 19 Special Forces operations conducted in 10 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 66 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 19 strikes on enemy's sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
