ABU DHABI, 25th August, 2017 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving Convoy has begun its humanitarian campaign in Egyptian villages, by providing medical treatment, through the UAE-Egyptian mobile volunteer hospital, to 1,000 children and elderly patients in the country's eastern province.

The volunteer doctors participating in the campaign have diagnosed patients, carried out operations and provided preventative services, as part of their efforts to help vulnerable groups in the area.

The mobile hospital was established as a joint humanitarian initiative between the Zayed Giving Initiative, the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society, the Emirates Volunteer Association, Egypt's Health Ministry and the Egyptian Volunteer Society, to provide free diagnosis and treatment to underprivileged patients, which is in line with the Year of Giving 2017 in the UAE and an annual programme to help one million children and elderly people in various Egyptian governorates and villages.

This medical mission was also launched in other countries, including in Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Eritrea, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bosnia, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and other countries.
