Mohamed bin Zayed and Kazakh President witness signing of agreements between UAE, Kazakhstan

ABU DHABI, January 15th, 2017 (WAM)--His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed on Sunday several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements between the two countries, at Al Mushrif palace.

Among the agreements, was one for allocating the land for the construction of diplomatic missions for the UAE and Kazakhstan, as well as a protocol to amend the agreement on mutual visa exemptions, and MoU on establishing a consular commission.

The agreements were signed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Also, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, and Zhenis Kassymbek, Kazakh Minister of Investment and Development signed two MoUs of cooperation on tourism and international transportation.

The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Kazakh Ministry of Religions Affairs signed a MoU. It was signed by Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, and Nurlan Yermekbayev, Kazakh Minister of Religions Affairs and Civil Society. Another MoU between Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo Astana 2017 was signed by Khaled Najeeb Al Ali, Executive Director of Expo 2020 Dubai office, and Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of Astana Expo 017.

Dubai Ports Company and Mangystau Region of Kazakhstan signed a MoU. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Dubai World Ports, and Alik Aidarbayev, Governor of Mangystau signed the deal.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and several sheikhs, ministers, as well as civil and military officials.

While on the Kazakh side, it was attended by Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Investment and Development, a number of ministers, Kairat Lama Sharif, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, and a number of senior officials.
