Are there enough holiday options for summers, when schools are closed and temperatures are soaring?

Oman has many beaches. Other places are Wadi Bani Khalid and the hot springs of Nakhl and Rustaq. These sites can be developed further to lure summer visitors. There are also a lot of well-maintained farm houses between Seeb and Batinah.

My native place Ashkhara in Sharqiyah is a good summer getaway. The weather is similar to Salalah. But it needs to be developed further. The place needs basic amenities such as resting areas, public toilets, mosques and hotels.

Some of the other places to visit during the summers are Jebel Shams and Jebel Akhdar where the weather is cool and pleasant. The government should think of developing spots within Muscat as well. It should set up more shelters and cafes for tourists especially looking at the summer heat.
