China's FDI up 1.9 percent in September

(MENAFN) According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC), foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country increased 1.9 percent last month to USD9.01 billion, Xinhua reported.

In the January-September period, the FDI topped USD87.36 billion, down 1.4 percent from a year ago, with the decline pace narrowing from the 1.8 percent registered in the first eight months.

The increase comes after a 14 percent decline registered in August, marking a sign that investors are more confident about the growth outlook in the world's second largest economy.

The service sector attracted the biggest share of the FDI, with 55.7 percent of the FDI flowing into the sector, while those pumped into the manufacturing sector dropped 16.5 percent.
