714 arrested for violating Labour Law 371 deported from Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As many as 714 workers including 169 absconders, were arrested between June 15 and 21 for Labour Law violations.

The weekly report of the joint inspection team in the Ministry of Manpower stated that another 745 workers were found violating the Labour Law during the same period. 'These include 685 commercial workers, 15 farm workers and 45 housemaids and their equivalent,' the report said.

The governorate of Muscat saw the maximum number of workers violating the law at 530, followed by Batinah with 72. 'The ministry has initiated legal action against them.' During this period, 371 workers were deported for Labour Law violations.
