Ukraine lowers 2012 economic growth forecast to 1%


(MENAFN) Ukraine's President, Viktor Yanukovych, stated that during the current year, his country's economy will grow by 1 percent, reported Xinhua News. Yanukovych said that the figure is compared with an earlier estimate of 3.9 percent. Furthermore, Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) next year is forecasted to expand by 3.4 percent, whereas inflation will stand at 4.8 percent. Kiev's budget deficit for 2012 will also grow from a previous estimate of 1.7 percent to 2.6. It is worth noting that in next year's first quarter, Ukraine may adjust its budget, which set the country's revenues at nearly USD45.1 billion and expenditures at USD51.33 billion.
