Ukraine, Austria sign agreement on cooperation in fields of education, science and culture


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In the presence of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander van der Bellen, an agreement on cooperation in the spheres of education, science and culture was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Austria.

This was informed by the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state.

"The intergovernmental agreement is a framework one. It determines the directions and forms of cooperation agreed upon by the parties in the spheres of education, science and culture," the report reads.

The parties will also support the organization of cultural events, including tours, exhibitions, concerts, festivals, theatrical performances and other artistic events.

To implement the provisions of the agreement, a mixed commission will be established, which will include representatives of relevant authorities of both countries. The meetings should be held once every 4 years.

In addition, the agreement contains provisions on the support of the future activities of the "Ukrainian Institute" in the Republic of Austria.

The agreement will come into force upon completion by the parties of the corresponding internal procedures - ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and approval by the National Council of Austria.
