Kuwait- Egyptian phone thief caught


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested for stealing the cell phones of visitors to a five-star hotel, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, the thief used to take the cell phones that the visitors had left on the tables while they are busy taking food from open buffets. One of the visitors had lodged a complaint based on which Police managed to identify the thief after viewing records of the surveillance cameras and picking up the number plate of the suspect's vehicle. He admitted to switching off the stolen cell phones and sending them to his home country so that he would not caught in Kuwait through the use of the GPS system.

Theft bid foiled: An Egyptian man was arrested for attempting to rob a Filipina inside a residential building in Hawally area, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the Egyptian caretaker of the building managed to control the thief and locked him inside a room before calling the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior. Police rushed to the building, arrested the thief and referred him to the concerned authorities.
