Saudi Arabia declares Islamic military anti terror coalition

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 15 (Petra) -- Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced the formation of an Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism according to a joint statement published on state news agency SPA. According to SPA Jordan will be part of the 35-state alliance.
"The countries here mentioned have decided on the formation of a military alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism with a joint operations centre based in Riyadh to co-ordinate and support military operations" the statement said.
The coalition includes the following countries: Saudi Arabia Jordan the UAE Pakistan Bahrain Bangladesh Benin Turkey Chad Togo Tunisia Djibouti Senegal Sudan Sierra Leone Somalia Gabon Guinea Palestine the Islamic Federal Republic of the Comoros Qatar Cote d'Ivoire Kuwait Lebanon Libya Maldives Mali Malaysia Egypt Morocco Mauritania Niger Nigeria Yemen and Uganda.
The announcement cited "a duty to protect the Islamic nation from the evils of all terrorist groups and organizations whatever their sect and name which wreak death and corruption on earth and aim to terrorize the innocent." AA
