NITI Aayog Holds State Support Mission Regional Dialogue With 11 Western & Southern States

(MENAFN- KNN India) Mumbai, Sep 26 (KNN) NITI Aayog, in partnership with the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), convened the second Regional Dialogue under the State Support Mission (SSM) on 25 September 2025 at YASHADA, Pune.

The event brought together senior officials from 11 Western and Southern States and Union Territories to exchange experiences on implementing SSM initiatives. It followed the first dialogue held earlier this year in Dehradun with Northern States and UTs.

The deliberations underscored the central role of State Institutions for Transformation (SITs) in shaping state-level visions, advancing reforms, and aligning development priorities with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Discussions focused on strengthening SITs as multi-disciplinary hubs for evidence-based policymaking, long-term visioning, and future-ready governance.

National and global models of institutional design were shared by leaders from Uttarakhand's SETU Aayog, Madhya Pradesh Rajya NITI Aayog, and the World Bank.

A dedicated session on the '4Ds of Good Governance-Data to Decision, Decision to Development' explored how states can better leverage data for policy formulation and service delivery.

Experts from DMEO, MoSPI, BISAG-N and the RBI presented approaches involving digital enablers, geospatial applications such as PM Gati Shakti, and the integration of survey, administrative and geospatial data with emerging tools like AI and machine learning.

Other sessions examined frontier technologies-including AI and data centres-as catalysts for state innovation, with the launch of a Frontier Tech Policy Repository.

Deliberations on 'Growth Hubs' highlighted city regions as engines of prosperity, while the State Vision @2047 session emphasised building dynamic, data-driven development roadmaps.

An exhibition showcased governance tools and platforms, including the NITI for States portal, Viksit Bharat Strategy Room, Meghalaya's Mother Program, BISAG-N's geospatial applications, Bhashini's real-time translation and minutes tool, and the 'Experience in a Box' device for data-driven decision-making in aspirational districts.

A compendium summarising outcomes from more than 50 SSM workshops held across states and UTs in the past two years was also released.
