Portugal Introduces Tradition Of Marking Occasions Dedicated To Ukrainian Defenders


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, this was announced on Facebook by Pavlo Sadokha, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) for Southern Europe and President of the Union of Ukrainians in Portugal (UUP).

The first such event, dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, will take place on October 1, at 11:00 a.m., near the Monumentos aos Combatentes do Ultramar memorial (Av. Brasília, 1400-038 Lisbon).

The event aims to bring Ukrainians and Portuguese together to honor the brave soldiers who defend Ukraine. The program of the event includes: prayer in the chapel located on the territory of the monument, short speeches by Ukrainian and Portuguese representatives, and the ceremony of placing wreaths and flowers at the memorial.

Representatives of the Ukrainian community are invited to participate in the event to pay tribute to those who defend peace and freedom at the cost of their own lives.

We would like to remind you that the Ukrainian community in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, has started a new tradition : every month, on the 24th, they march to draw attention to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
