Release of Zionist prisoners by al-Qassam Brigades gets accompanied by unprecedented military, security buildup
(MENAFN) The release of three Zionist prisoners by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades in the Gaza Strip yesterday was accompanied by an unprecedented military and security buildup, underscoring that the occupation’s goal of eliminating Hamas remains far from realization. As part of the fourth exchange batch under the ceasefire agreement, prisoners were handed over to Red Cross crews in Khan Yunis and Gaza port, with a large presence of Qassam operatives securing the release. Various military units of the Qassam Brigades, including the Zeitoun Brigade, Shujaiya Battalion, Beach Battalion, and Al-Tuffah Battalion, appeared in the crowds providing security. The shadow unit tasked with securing the prisoners, along with infantry, sniper, and armor units, participated in the military display, showing that Qassam retains its full military capabilities.
The release process included the use of weapons like the Al-Ghoul rifle, used by Qassam snipers against Zionist officers, and the "Tafur" weapon, seized from occupation soldiers. In Khan Yunis, the Qassam Brigades utilized a Zionist vehicle seized during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood for the handover of prisoners Yarden Bibas and Ofer Calderon. The Qassam Armor Unit showcased anti-armor missiles, including the Al-Yassin shell, which had targeted Zionist tanks and armored vehicles. The soldiers participated in military parades and chanted slogans, with the delivery platforms adorned with images of Qassam commanders, including Muhammad al-Deif. Despite the loss of some leaders, the brigades continued to fight and demonstrated their organizational resilience.
Analysts note that the Qassam Brigades’ success in mobilizing and continuing the battle, despite the martyrdom of key leaders, highlights the strength of their military and organizational structure. In every prisoner handover, Qassam strategically chooses different locations across Gaza, sending significant messages, such as the use of Gaza’s port delivery platform, a location associated with the return of displaced persons.
