(MENAFN) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated that Egypt will not tolerate or participate in the displacement of the Palestinian people, reaffirming the nation's longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause. During a joint press conference with Kenyan President William Ruto on Wednesday at Cairo's Ittihadiya Palace, Sisi emphasized that Egypt's position on Palestine is non-negotiable and that historical rights must be respected.
Sisi stated that any effort to displace Palestinians would be intolerable due to its potential impact on Egypt's national security. He also reiterated Egypt's determination to work with U.S. President Donald Trump in pursuit of peace based on the two-state solution. The president acknowledged that the Palestinian people have faced historical injustice for the past 70 years, an issue shared by Egyptian, Arab, and global public opinion.
He also referenced Egypt's early warnings about the war's aim to make life in Gaza unbearable, leading to displacement, and affirmed Egypt's rejection of such actions from the outset.
