RAMALLAH, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- The Israeli Occupation army is continuing its attack on Tulkarm Governorate for the second consecutive day, with bulldozers destroying the city's infrastructure, including parts of the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps.
Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil condemned the destruction and the targeting of civilians. He said that the attacks aim to deplete the region's resources, hinder movement, and destroy what has been previously repaired.
He also emphasized the continued military siege on hospitals, the arrest and injury of citizens, in addition to the forced displacement of residents, particularly in the Tulkarm camp.
The Governor called on international organizations to intervene and stop the ongoing attacks.
The assault began on Monday with an airstrike targeting a vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of two young men and injuries to others. The army then deployed additional military reinforcements.
Israeli forces are terrorizing civilians, forcing dozens to flee their homes, and demolishing streets, water and electricity networks. The occupation has also destroyed the courthouse stairs in the city.
Journalists covering the events have been targeted with tear gas and sound bombs, where Israeli forces near Al-Israa Hospital are detaining ambulances and medical crews.
Meanwhile, Israeli attack on Jenin and its refugee camp has entered its eighth day, with at least 16 Palestinians martyred and dozens injured. The army has also forced the evacuation of numerous families and destroyed nearly 100 homes. (end)
