The International Court of Justice, despite the objections of the Armenian side, has decided to consider the lawsuit of Azerbaijan against Armenia on the merits, including the facts related to mines, the deputy foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov wrote on X, Trend reports.

“The International Court of Justice today confirmed that Azerbaijan's lawsuit against Armenia over ethnic cleansing and other acts of racial discrimination during the decades-long occupation of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territories will proceed. The Court also rejected Armenia's attempt to remove claims related to the practice of laying mines and booby traps from the court's jurisdiction. Ensuring justice for the victims of Armenian mine campaigns is vital, a number that tragically continues to grow to this day,” he noted.
