European Commission, Turkmenistan Debate Co-Op On Green And Digital Transformation Issues


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 5. The European Commission and Turkmenistan have prioritized cooperation in the issues of green and digital transformation, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.

According to the information, this became known after the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myakhri Byashimova with the delegation of the European Commission headed by Dietmar Krissler, Head of the Central Asia Division of the European External Action Service.

Moreover, the sides discussed a wide range of issues aimed at further development of cooperation, including regional security, climate change, and environmental protection.

Meanwhile, special attention was paid to energy transportation and logistics, in particular the launch of the Trans-Caspian Coordination Platform, which, according to both sides, will be an important step towards sustainable economic and social development of the region.

The parties also discussed issues of interaction in the format “Central Asia - European Union”.

To note, the launch of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TITR) coordination platform within the framework of strengthening cooperation in the EU-CA format was discussed during the official visit of the European Union delegation headed by Commissioner for International Partnership Jutta Urpilainen to Ashgabat.
